Tourism and Hospitality Certificate

The Tourism & Hospitality Certificate of Applied Science program is designed to prepare individuals for immediate entry into this customer-centered industry or enable those currently employed to earn college credit for potential job advancement.

Upon completion of the Tourism & Hospitality Certificate program, graduates will be able to:

  • Describe the importance and impact of tourism on our region’s economy, culture, and environment.
  • Develop communication skills necessary for interacting with tourists, including effective verbal and written communication.
  • Identify key elements of successful event planning within the tourism and hospitality sector.
  • Demonstrate components of exceptional customer service.
  • Market and promote a tourism and hospitality business.
  • Describe fundamental principles of business operations and management within the tourism and hospitality.
  • Demonstrate effective management and leadership techniques in a tourism and hospitality business.

 

Career Opportunities

The Tourism & Hospitality CAS will prepare graduates for entry to mid-level positions within the industry. You can seek positions within foodservice, hospitality, and tourism.
