CJST 266 - Forensic Interviewing (3)


Designed to help the professional develop skills for interviewing children using a neutral, fact-finding paradigm, this course informs the learner of best practices when interviewing children who are suspected victims of, or witnesses to, crime. A broad spectrum survey of the most commonly used models for different situations is given. The core of the course encompasses the basics of forensic interviewing, such as: preparing for interviews, using evidence-based practices during interviewing, the interview structure, the importance of fluidity and flexibility in interviewing, as well as taking appropriate notes for court testimony, preparing for trial, and testifying in court.
