Case Management & Advocacy Certificate

Case Managers can make a life-changing difference with individuals and communities that are seeking help with challenging situations, and they are most effective when they have the specialized skills and knowledge to work with a wide range of clients. This certificate program provides the foundation for students to assess, plan, coordinate, monitor, and advocate for clients and communities with different backgrounds and challenges. The certificate program is designed for case managers in a variety of social service programs, including emergency assistance, domestic violence, youth services, mental health, substance use treatment, shelters, and more. It provides flexibility for students to tailor the curriculum to meet their specific needs. 

A graduate will be able to:

•    Develop the knowledge and skills to conduct needs assessments, focusing on a client’s/community’s strengths as well as needs;
•    Understand the range of factors that impact a client/community;  
•    Apply ethical principles and standards to case management and advocacy services;
•    Develop comprehensive and individual service plans.
