MAST 207L - Advanced Clinical Care (3)

This course builds on topics covered in MAST 204L - Clinical Care and introduces new information including an introduction to the medical laboratory, lab equipment, lab safety, microbiology, collecting, processing, and testing of blood and urine specimens. Hands-on skills include performing hematology tests, urinalysis, basic microbiology testing, Point of Care CLIA waved testing, administration of oral, topical, buccal, sublingual, and paternal (injections) medications, ECG electrode and lead placement, ECG troubleshooting, obtaining ECG reading, pulmonary function testing, use of peak flow meters, and proper use of a nebulizer.

Prerequisite(s): MAST 204L and MATH 103
Note Must pass with C or better.
